Rodman was founded in 1974 by Manuel Rodríguez in Vigo, Spain. Initially focused on building fishing boats, Rodman quickly gained recognition in the industry by expanding into the production of sportsboats. The company underwent key developments, including relocating to larger premises in Moaña in 1986 and merging with Abada in 1992, forming Rodman Polyships.
Over the decades, Rodman has diversified its offerings, producing over 15,000 vessels, including leisure yachts, patrol boats, and commercial ships. The company operates multiple shipyards across Spain and Portugal, such as MetalShips & Docks in Vigo and Rodman Lusitania in Portugal.
Rodman is renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and innovation. Notably, it was the first Spanish boatbuilder to achieve ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and PECAL (NATO) quality certifications.
The Rodman 56 is a standout model in Rodman’s leisure yacht lineup. Designed by the esteemed naval architect Fulvio De Simoni, who is responsible for the design of many Ferretti Group boats, the Rodman 56 Muse blends style, strength, and functionality. This 17.36-meter (approximately 57 feet) motor yacht features a beam of 4.86 meters and a draft of 0.85 meters. Constructed with a fast displacement hull made of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), it offers a balance between speed and stability.
The yacht’s spacious interiors include three cabins and two bathrooms, accommodating up to 12 passengers. Equipped with twin VOLVO D-12, each producing 715 hp, the Rodman 56 delivers impressive performance. Additional features often include bow and stern thrusters, a hydraulic gangway, generator, teak cockpit and swim platform, GPS plotter, autopilot, radar, and air conditioning.
This particular yacht is new to the market (late May 2025) and is seriously for sale, therefore aggressively priced as the owners have already identified another, larger Rodman they would like to buy.
